2/25/2018 3 Comments The heat sheetWelcome back! I'm so excited to have my second blog post complete, and even more excited to be able to share it with y'all! I'm sad to say that I didn't swim as much as I previously state that I would've this week. Although, this is only because I needed something to base my progress off of for the next eleven weeks. Overall, this week was a lot of planning for what is to come in the near future!
There are many different things that I needed time to plan out during this first week of twelve to make sure everything will run as smoothly as possible. As stated on the "About" page and also on my first blog post, the purpose of this project is to improve my dive in order to quicken my overall event time. Well, in order to show improvements on my times, I had to make sure I had "base times" in the first place. Resolving this issue, I went to the YMCA during the week and timed myself with for three different events, using the three different types of dives I plan on improving. Another thing that I had to map out this week was how to work my schedule around my practice times. Being that each practice is an hour and a half, and I said that I'd practice in the pool for at least three hours each week, I had to plan which two nights I'd be going to swim practice. Finally, I had to brainstorm exactly how I'd share my progression throughout the time period of this project. I came to the conclusion of adding another page to this website where you all can access my times in the events I'm working on, and the additional exercise I did this week to strengthen my legs. Below is a tab for you to look at my "base times" from this week and the incorporation of any exercise that was included! Can't wait to share with everyone again next week!
