Being that this is past half-way through the project, I'm starting to wrap up all the technical factors that go into my dives and starts. By reading further, you will be able to see how I've been working on "Diving Outward" and taking the last final steps to complete my regular freestyle dive.
Like I previously stated, a lot of this week was focused on taking the last few steps in my attempt to better my typical race dive. My coach tried to take time out of practice with me individually and really center-in and focus on the small technique qualities that needed improvements. One of the major flaws we saw that was still evident, was the power and force I had in my legs. Although we have been working on this all the way up to this point, it still seems to be an issue. Instead of doing any additional exercises, we both decided to practice with the actual dive itself more than anything else. On the Weekly Times Page (linked to the button below), I've decided to include two clips of my freestyle starts from this weeks work. Although they only vary slightly, as long as you know what to look for, a slight amount of change between the two can be detected. The first dive shows the lack of true power behind my start, whereas the second video shows me attempting to drive my dive with the force from my legs and the rest of the lower body strength that I withhold.
